This is a grand ceremony where 108 Tsuka (mounds) built on the ridge of Mt. Dozen (in O-aza Inomata) are lit up on August 15. It is said in the area that the ritual was started to console the spirits of Inomata Koheirokunoritsuna, the master of the Inomata Party, one of the seven Musashi parties, and his clan. This ceremony is unique among the Hyakuhatto (108 lights) ceremonies of various areas, in that 108 mounds are first built and then fires are lit on them. This ceremony thus demonstrates belief in the Tsuka (mounds) as well as the attitudes of consoling the spirits of the deceased.
